Rob "Nellie" Nelson is the former left handed pitcher and baseball lifer behind Big League Chew. While playing with the Portland Mavericks in the late 1970s, Nelson dreamed up the idea for shredded bubble gum in a stay fresh pouch as a fun, kid friendly alternative to chewing tobacco. What started as a bullpen idea quickly grew into one of baseball's most recognizable brands - a colorful dugout icon loved by generations of players, fans, and collectors.
